Route

  • Sunday — Innmünding loop, 18 km flat
    Arrive in Passau. Private car park. Distribution of bicycles. At 17:00, a round trip on the Inn Bicycle Path to Neuburg, over the new bicycle bridge to Wernstein, and returning over Ingling to your hotel. Dinner in hotel.

  • Monday — Schlögen, 42 km
    Bicycle tour to Engelszell (tour of the monastery) and further on to the Schlögen loop. Dinner and bowling in the hotel in the evening (indoor swimming pool, spa area).

  • Tuesday — Linz/Donau, 59 km
    Ride through the narrow unsettled valley by Kaiserau to Aschach, Wilhering, and Linz. Concert on the Bruckner organ in Linz, or an open—air classical concert in July/August. Find out why Linz is Europe"s Cultural Capital in 2009!

  • Wednesday — Ardagger/Grein, 62 km
    Bicycle tour to Enns (oldest town in Austria) where you will enjoy a champagne welcome on the town tower, high over the roofs of the town. Continue on past Wallsee to Grein with a picnic along the way featuring typical Upper Austrian specialties. Dinner followed by a beer tasting in hotel.

  • Thursday — Spitz/Wachau, 68 km
    Ride past the Wörth island — where the Lady of the Danube is said to eat young men lost in the fog — to Melk and then journey on by ship to Spitz. Dinner followed by wine tasting at a vineyard.

  • Friday — Vienna, 64 km cycle and 36 km ship or train
    Pedal to Krems and further on to Tulln. Visit the largest national garden show "08. Evening ship journey from Tulln to Vienna and transfer to the hotel (June, July, August) or train journey to Vienna.
  • Saturday — Journey Home
    Bus journey to Passau (by train, if you wish) or extend your stay in Vienna.

Good to excellent mid—range ***hotels along the way. Stay in first—class hotels in Schlögen and in Vienna. The whole group reservation can, however, favor accommodations together in neighboring towns.

Breakfast buffet. Dinner together — three—course menu.
