Ride at a comfortable pace with planned time for visits, because something interesting can be found around every corner. The landscape is delightful, due to the loopy way the Mosel River flows through it.

Route

  • Day 1 - Arrival
Arrive in Trier, distribution of information

  • Day 2 - Trittenheim/Neumagen-Dhron, 40/48 km
Bicycle distribution in the morning, ride first to Schweich (tower), then to Mehring, and further on to the Trittenheim loop in the Mosel and your day's goal.

  • Day 3 - Bernkastel-Kues, 30 km
Ride past the Roman finds at Piesport and into the quaint wine-growing town (timber-frame houses, Landshut castle).

  • Day 4 - Zell, 41 km
Mosey through little winemaking villages to Traben-Trarbach (ruins of Grevenburg) and along steep vineyards to the famous wine-growing town of Zell ("Schwarze Katz" - the area's most famous wine bar). Impressive wine tasting in the evening!

  • Day 5 - Koblenz, 44 km cycle, 35 minutes on the train
Pass countless castles in the middle of the vineyards to reach Beilstein (known at the "Rothenburg on the Mosel", timber-frame houses) and Cochem (Reichburg castle, pretty old town). Continue by train to Koblenz (mouth of the Mosel at the "Deutschen Eck").
